Account Manager

Full time Manchester, UK

We are looking for an enthusiastic Account Manager join our client services team. You’ll be the beating heart of the agency, bridging the work of our creative teams to the objectives of our clients. Primarily work as part of larger teams, and sometimes you may be asked to drive small-mid sized client projects on your own.

Key responsibilities

  • Building relationships with and becoming the direct contact for small-mid sized clients, responding with speed and assurance to most internal and external requests
  • Supporting the Client Services Director on the management of large clients and projects
  • Proactively join the dots across an account, identify potential opportunities, offering solutions whilst also being open and receptive to the contribution of others
  • Be accountable for the project commercials, be able to accurately scope work and deliver your projects on time and on budget
  • Helping the rest of the client services team to manage the studio of brand, digital and motion designers and also developers

Experience

  • You have at least 2 years of experience across several types of projects
  • You can effortlessly manage multiple projects simultaneously over a mix of clients and sectors
  • You are confident working on your own as well as reporting into a Client Services Director or alongside another client services team member

Capabilities

  • Solid project management skills with expertise in budgeting, revenue forecasting, scheduling and building client relationships
  • Someone who can balance the budget with the big picture and contribute to the strategic and creative conversation
  • Effectively distilling and communicating direction to the team after client feedback or after internal design review
  • Highly collaborative, able to work well with other Client Service team members, strategists, designers, developers and clients
  • Able to balance reactive and proactive workloads, identify problems and find appropriate solutions but not afraid to ask for help

Senior Designer

Full time Manchester, UK

Designers are at the heart of BGN. As a Senior Designer, you will be a dedicated design lead for projects, supporting the Creative Director to shape the design, guide the team and maximising the potential of each project with effective design.

Key responsibilities

  • Generating interesting creative work with strong conceptual and strategic foundations
  • Focused on maintaining an exceptional level of craft and attention to detail
  • Leading the creative output of projects through each stage of the design process and overseeing design work to ensure the creative brief is fully explored
  • Supporting the Creative Director to ensure that work gets delivered on time to a high standard 
  • Effectively distilling and communicating direction to the team after client feedback or after internal design review 
  • Creating high quality presentations of creative work for internal and external use
  • Inspiring other designers through creativity, action and mentorship

Skills and experience

  • Broad experience – You’ll have at least 5 years of industry experience, with proven skills and competencies. Must have a passion for branding, design and digital
  • Excellent varied portfolio – Work should demonstrate concept-driven design, superior execution, show experimentation, versatility, strategic thinking and energy. Significant brand identity and digital projects within the industry. You should have worked across both print and digital executions from start to finish
  • People skills – Comfortable working as a team and confident to take part in workshops and interactions with clients
  • Excellent presenter – Excellent communication and presentation skills. Able to put an attractive and compelling presentation together and present it
  • Broad tool-kit – High level of skill in Adobe CC (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD) and an understanding of peripheral design processes (i.e. art direction and film/stills production, print production)
  • Bonus tool-kit – Experience in 3D, animation, coding and interaction design is a bonus

As a Midweight Designer, you will be involved in all aspects of design for projects, supporting the Creative Director and Senior Designer to shape the design and create the work that drives projects forward. You’ll bring ideas, energy and solid design skills to any task. Helping maximise the potential of each project with effective design.

Key responsibilities

  • Generating ideas and interesting creative work with strong conceptual foundations
  • Focused on maintaining an high level of craft and attention to detail
  • Taking responsibility to hit deadlines and being aware of timings
  • Supporting the Creative Director and Senior Designers to ensure that work gets delivered on time to a high standard
  • Creating high quality presentations of creative work for internal and external use
  • Inspiring other designers through creativity and staying up to date with trends and current design thinking
  • Collaborating with client teams, motion and development to build a positive working relationship

Brand Strategist

Full time Manchester, UK

As a Brand Strategist you will be leading the strategic aspects of our projects. Shaping the strategy, guiding the team and maximising the creative potential of a project. You will work across multiple projects and will be the 'go-to' person for key strategic dimensions and deliverables on your projects. You'll be able to bring a broad experience of working across different sectors and challenges to steer the strategy.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead strategic elements of work across multiple projects
  • Give the creative team guidance and direction through the strategy stages
  • Hold micro and macro views of your projects and unlock the potential for strategy throughout all stages of a project
  • Inform new business, proposals and project planning
  • Plan and lead immersion research, creating and facilitating strategic workshops, stakeholder interviews, etc

  • Transformation expertise – Able to guide clients through complex stakeholder engagement and/or cultural change
  • Compelling storyteller – Excellent presenter, writer and communicator who is able to construct a strong and persuasive argument with logic and imagination

As a Digital Designer you will be focussed on the UX, website and interactive design aspects for the studio’s output. Supporting the Creative Director, senior designers and development team to shape the design of web projects. Guiding the team and maximising the potential of each digital project.

  • People skills – Comfortable working as a team and confident to take part in workshops and interactions with clients
  • Excellent presenter – Good communication and presentation skills. Able to put an attractive and compelling presentation together and present it
  • Broad tool-kit – High level of skill in design and prototyping programs (XD, Figma, Sketch, Illustrator)
  • Bonus tool-kit – Experience in coding, animation, 3D and brand design is a bonus

Motion Designer

Full time Manchester, UK

Motion is an important part of life at BGN. It is embedded in what we do from brand creation to digital delivery. Brands in today’s world do not sit still and our motion team are there from the start of every project, collaborating from day one to impact how a brand will move.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce outstanding creative work to constantly challenge the level of BGN’s output
  • Work confidently alone as well as in a team, being able to meet deadlines
  • Have flexibility and willingness to work from the conceptual phase to delivery across multiple projects, crafting moving assets, films and other forms of animation
  • Working collaboratively with other motion designers, brand designers and developers
  • Support the motion design team to ensure that work is well executed and delivered on time
  • Take part in occasional client calls throughout the duration of a project

Skills and experience

  • Experience – A minimum of 1 years experience with a primary focus on motion
  • Great show reel – A strong portfolio and show reel of animation work. Either commercial or self initiated projects
  • Design understanding – Have a good understanding of design principles and work confidently with typography, photography, illustration and any kind of imagery necessary to produce animation
  • Conceptual thinker – Be able to implement traditional animation principles into branding and to come up with new unique overarching concepts to guide motion graphics
  • Broad tool-kit – High level of skill in After Effects and a good understanding of Adode CC
  • Bonus tool-kit – Experience in 3D, editing and frame-by-frame animation. Coding, colour grading, audio production, AR and VR are a bonus
